Nile Flame: Early Life, Music, and the Rise of Majestic Gvng
Early Life
Nile Flame was born in South Philadelphia on September 14, 1991, to Angela L. Britten and Herman L. Woods Sr. Although born in Philadelphia, he was primarily raised on the east side of Atlanta, Georgia, where he developed strong influences from Black Christian churches, Southern culture, spirituality, and his experiences through travel. These influences later became foundational to his artistic identity, blending soulful expression, spiritual themes, and cultural storytelling into a sound described as both refreshing and familiar.
Musical Beginnings
Music played a major role in Nile Flame’s upbringing from an early age. He studied drums and violin until the age of 12 before transitioning to keyboard, which he played for churches until the age of 19. His early exposure to live instrumentation and church music helped shape his musical ear, performance style, and approach to songwriting.
At the age of 17, he co-founded the group Majestic Bohemians alongside his brother, Caleb J. Woods. During this period, he performed under the stage name “Young Flame.” Alongside music, he also wrote his first business plan at 17, reflecting an early interest in entrepreneurship, ownership, and independent creative development.
Career Development
Following the separation of Majestic Bohemians in 2015, Nile Flame entered a period of personal and professional transition. Balancing multiple responsibilities and creative ambitions, he worked to define the direction that would align with his long-term vision of becoming the CEO and owner of an educational independent label rooted in empowerment, culture, and artistic freedom.
Over time, this vision evolved into Majestic Gvng, a movement combining music, fashion, spirituality, and community-building. Through his work, Nile Flame positioned himself as both an artist and entrepreneur focused on creating purpose-driven art and ownership opportunities for independent creatives.
Personal Life and Philosophy
In addition to his music and business ventures, Nile Flame has identified himself as a father, entrepreneur, and advocate for self-development and spiritual growth. Much of his philosophy centers around perseverance, reinvention, and remaining grounded throughout success and adversity.
His message to longtime supporters and early followers has remained consistent throughout his career: “Remember you were here before the fame.”
